‘When Students Are Entrusted with Such Important Tasks, It Is Both Thrilling and Daunting’

Students of the International Relations programme at the HSE Faculty of World Economy and International Affairs—Daniil Moskalev (third year) and Elizaveta Evseeva (fourth year)—completed a six-month internship with the African Energy Chamber in South Africa as part of the Africa track. They shared their experiences with the HSE News Service, speaking about their adventures abroad, the challenges they encountered, and the opportunities that opened up before them.

‘I Have Always Been Passionate about Gender Equality, Especially in Terms of Education’

Adeola Oluwatobi Oyewole, from Nigeria, obtained her bachelor’s degree in Sociology at the University of Ibadan in Nigeria, the country's first and oldest university. She went on to graduate from the HSE’s Master’s programme in Population and Development and is now pursuing her PhD at the Doctoral School of Sociology. In her interview with the HSE News Service, Adeola spoke on her career plans after completing her PhD and explains why it’s important to empower young girls to study in male-dominated STEM fields.

Madina Yessimova, from Kazakhstan, is a fourth-year bachelor’s student of Business Administration at the HSE Graduate School of Business. HSE University–St Petersburg and UPES University (India) held a joint summer school for students and researchers on the influence of international organisations on environmental regulation policy in Russia and India. HSE University–St Petersburg was represented by Aleksei Sorbale, academic supervisor of the Bachelor's programmes 'Political Science and World Politics' and 'Data Analytics for Politics and Society.'

Where does the Mistress of the Copper Mountain live? How can the national cuisine of Tatarstan surprise you? What does the Stone Town near Perm look like? HSE University–St Petersburg hosted a fair which brought together representatives of various nationalities of Russia. Komi-Permyaks and Urals, Pomors, Karachais and Balkarians, Buryats and Tatars shared unique features of their cultures, presented their national dishes, and took international students on an interactive journey around Russian regions.

Victoria Ramos Gonzales, from Bolivia, fell in love with Moscow after visiting the city in 2022. Now, as a student of the ‘Master in International Management’ programme at the HSE Graduate School of Business, she researches management systems with a focus on Latin America. HSE President Alexander Shokhin Re-elected as President of Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs

Alexander Shokhin, President of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (RSPP), has been re-elected to lead the organisation for another four-year term. The decision was taken at an RSPP congress session held at the Russia National Centre. Since 1995, Alexander Shokhin has also served as President of HSE University. In addition, he heads HSE’s Department of Theory and Practice of Business–Government Interaction.
