‘When We Study History, We Must Be Introspective’
Nathan Marcus, Assistant Professor of History, recently joined the HSE campus in St. Petersburg. A scholar of Modern European History, he has a book that will soon be published by Harvard University Press. Recently, he spoke with the HSE news service about his research and teaching interests, as well as on the important role that studying history plays in today’s society.

On December 1st an inauguration ceremony for Alexander Rahr, a prominent expert in Russian-German relations, as Honorary Professor of the HSE took place at the HSE Faculty of World Economy and International Affairs. After the event he gave a lecture on the history, problems and dynamics of the bilateral politics of Germany and Russia.

This was an event which took place in Oslo (Norway), organised by the University of Oslo with the support of the Wergeland Center (European Resource Center on Education for Intercultural Understanding, Human Rights and Democratic Citizenship).
