Call for Papers for the SRPC 2024 Student Research Paper Competition is Now Open
The start of the academic year is not just about new subjects and long-awaited reunions with classmates, but also about choosing a topic for your term paper. Writing it is often quite challenging, and the results of your hard work can sometimes feel irrelevant or unapplicable. SRPC offers a great opportunity to receive expert feedback on one’s research, gain recognition within the academic community, and take the first steps toward an academic career.
According to a survey conducted in 2022, 44% of the SRPC laureates and winners reported that winning the competition influenced their research interests.

'The Student Research Paper Competition is an opportunity where there is no need for excessive modesty or self-doubt. If you have worked hard on your research and have documented your results, you should seize the opportunity to participate in the competition. Students who have succeeded in the competition are often readily hired by HSE laboratories and research centres.'
The research paper must be original and can be completed either individually or in collaboration with other students.
Students are allowed to use generative AI (text, program code, images, etc.) in their competition submissions. However, participants must explain in the introduction or conclusion to their paper how exactly they used artificial intelligence.

Competition papers are accepted until October 15. The results will be announced in late December 2024.
The benefits of winning the competition include the chance to receive a special scholarship (for first-place winners in each category), additional points for your portfolio, discounts on admission fees for the HSE Master's programmes, and an academic travel grant to attend scientific events around the world.

Student Research Paper Competition 2022 Now Open at HSE University

On September 1, HSE University announced the start of its annual Student Research Paper Competition (SRPC-2022). Participation is open to students of Russian and international universities and to 2022 graduates. Last year, a total of 2,196 papers were submitted to the SRPC, of which 435 were from external participants.

The annual awards ceremony of the Student Research Paper Competition (NIRS) was held on February 8, Russian Science Day. This year, 165 people received awards, including not only HSE students but also contestants from Saint Petersburg State University, Moscow State University, Far Eastern Federal University, Mount Holyoke College (USA), and other universities. Another 160 participants became laureates of the competition, with 1,924 papers submitted in total.
Student Research Paper Competition 2020 Accepting Submissions
Any student or 2020 graduate of a Russian or international university is eligible to take part in the Student Research Paper Competition. Papers can be submitted from September 1 to October 15. The competition has been held at HSE University since 2003.

The competition is open not only to students of HSE University but to students of any university, both in Russia and abroad. You can submit research papers in Russian or in English. The application deadline is October 15.
