HSE – 22 Years
The Higher School of Economics will be 22 on November 27. Evgeny Yasin and Alexander Shokhin would like to congratulate the university on this.
Dear friends,
I congratulate you on the 22nd anniversary of our wonderful university – the Higher School of Economics.
On November 27, 1992, the Russian government, which at the time was headed by Yegor Gaidar, signed a decree establishing our school. There were at least two key successes under that government.
The first was the creation of a market economy in Russia.
The second was the establishment of our school.
This was of course based on the work of Yaroslav Kuzminov and many of his colleagues. Congratulations to them! And to myself, as I was one of them.
Happy Anniversary!
In a relatively short time (22 years – that’s still not much), our HSE has acquired true international renown, becoming a major scientific and research centre known for its highly qualified teaching staff and an ability to follow an innovative path of development. Today, HSE is one of the most prestigious educational institutions in Russia. These walls produce economists, political scientists, managers, international relations professionals, journalists and specialists in other important areas of science who are in high demand both nationally and internationally.
We have already reached the point where we no longer have to be cunning when we speak of creating a research school that, from its very beginnings, has been grounded in global standards and economic principles. Its distinctive features are its high educational standards and its wide range of both economic and humanitarian fields of study. An HSE degree is evidence of serious training, profound knowledge, and a wide range of interests. Of course, behind all of this is the great work of teachers, professors, researchers, experts, analysts, and management who make the Higher School of Economics what it is. Their professionalism and dedication contribute not only to strengthening the prestige of the university, but above all, to improving the training of qualified management personnel in Russia.
Dear friends, I sincerely hope all of you preserve and magnify the beautiful traditions of the university. I wish you prosperity, new achievements in work and study, and the realization of all your creative plans and life projects. And to our beloved HSE, I hope you continue to evolve and to ‘get smarter’ by remaining a perfect example of high educational standards!
