HSE Graduate Becomes Deputy Minister of Finance
Maxim Oreshkin, a graduate of the HSE Faculty of Economics has been appointed Deputy to the Head of Russia’s Ministry of Finance, Anton Siluanov.
In his new job, Mr Oreshkin will look after macroeconomic issues of government spending, risk analysis in the budgetary system, evaluation and prediction of incomes, and financial-credit policy issues.
32 year old Maxim Oreshkin finished his Bachelor’s Degree in Economics at HSE Faculty of Economics in 2002 and his Master’s Degree in Finance (now Financial Markets and Institutions) at the same faculty in 2004.
Before he started at the Ministry of Finance, he worked in the Central Bank, was Managing Director of Rossbank, Head of Analysis for Russia and the CIS at Credit Agricole Corporate and Investment Bank and Chief Economist for Russia at VTB Capital. In 2013 he was Head of the Department for Long-term Strategic Planning at the Ministry of Finance.
